Nachtkleding, zwemkleding, panty’s, uniformen: de Srilankaanse textielindustrie levert een waaier aan interessante producten voor Nederlandse textielimporteurs. Een bezoekje aan Sri Lanka is leuk, maar je bent wel even onderweg. Daarom is het erg handig dat de Nederlandse ambassade in Sri Lanka een aantal bedrijven uitnodigde naar Nederland te komen.
Dinsdag 15 mei brengen in totaal 23 delegatieleden uit de top van overheden, branchesectoren en bedrijven uit verschillende sectoren een werkbezoek aan Nederland. De ontmoeting met Nederlandse ondernemers vindt plaats van 09.30-16.00 in het Crown Plaza Promenade Hotel in Den Haag.

Invoerrechten verlaagd naar 0 procent
De invoerrechten op diverse producten uit Sri Lanka zijn vorig jaar verlaagd naar 0%. Reden van de verlaging van deze tarieven is het toekennen van de APS+ status aan Sri Lanka. Via het APS verleent de EU sinds 1971 handelspreferenties aan ontwikkelingslanden en daardoor betalen importeurs uit de EU lagere invoerheffingen voor producten uit APS-landen.
Dinsdag kun je 23 Sri Lankaanse bedrijven, de Sri Lankaanse ambassade in Den Haag, de Sri Lankaanse Export Development Board (EDB), de Board of Investment (BOI) en de Sri Lankaanse Minister van Development Strategies and International Trade, Mr Malik Samarawickrama ontmoeten.
